Personal Experience

Independent Web Developer

For three months, was the sole developer and designer of a dynamic data-driven website developed for a client with no knowledge of websites. This website had been intended to function similarly to a wikia site with more restrictions on who could post different types of information and certain information hidden depending on user's current role. See, the portfolio page under Caerithein to see the results.

    Significant accomplishments:
  • Created 8 separate page templates for the different types of information that could be added or displayed. These were full CRUD and included dynamic error feedback
  • Created a single form to add all potential association table data to any given data entry in a manner that is easy to use
  • Added an additional system of checks beyond user role to facilitate a system of tags not strictly associated with the user themselves (also know as the Character)
  • Created a system of tags to allow users to view additional hidden information from an entry (also known as Secrets). These tags were tied not to the role they were in nor the user themselves but the associated Character (see above)
  • Created a smooth user navigation experience - for both casual readers and creators - with responsive layout able to handle both browser and mobile.
  • Created a system of approval before any item not written by an admin was published on site.
